Activity History
In an effort to improve the abilities of the Communications Officers through out NDMS, MERS Frederick was tasked to develop a training and certfication course. This spring the first training was offered to the West Coast and two communications personnel from OH-5 was also invited to attend. Two of our communications group accepted the invitation and spent a week at the training. 

The week included hands-on training with satellite systems, land mobile radio, repeaters, antennas and cabling, GPS, voice and data comm, and protocol.

 


 

 

 

Bill and John enjoyed the week and were certified at the end. The training was felt to have been a worth while effort by MERS despite the almost daily rain.

Another training for the east coast was offered in July and two additional communications members, Mark and Bryan attended that training and were also certified.
