Activity History
This
years event combined assistance with Air Show medical needs and heavy
training of DMAT personnel. DMAT communications manned medical
dispatched again this year. Below communications gets set up to
learn about equipment that was on loan to us from FEMA MERS.
The
Base of Operations is
pictured below. This year, to augment our training needs, we set up a
complete base with all five of our tents. Below, the tent at the near
left was our medical tent, the near right hex tent was our command and
communications tent, while the others were used for training, food,
housing and airshow viewing.
Training
consisted of multiple training stops at which members learned how to use
various medical equipment from our cash and practiced other medical
procedures. Team members felt that this was one of the best
medical trainings that we have done.
Patient visits were very low this year due to mild weather and ample availability of water around the show.
