Event
Republican National Convention in New York City, August 2004.

Members Involved
A full OH-5 team.

Activity History
The team was put on alert several weeks in advance of the Republican National Convention.  DMAT OH-5 departed by bus from Dayton to respond as part of the designated National Special Security Event. This deployment was special for us in that it was first OH-5 deployment of a full team. The deployment consisted of a week of specialized training and drills in the New York metropolitan area.

Catching some pretty weather before classes started.

The AO and Commo continue working behind the scenes at class.

For the teams present, it was a week of meetings, training and mobilization drills.

Drill preparation one evening. We practiced our mid-night emergency maneuvers which ended at the local A&P for some much needed personal items and supplies.
