In honor of Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Week, Ohio is recognizing those Ohioans who have served Ohio and our country over the past year.  On May 15th members of the DMAT OH5 team, sponsored by the Greater Dayton Area Hospital Association, were recognized in Columbus.  The presentation opened with remarks from Lt. Governor Maureen O'Connor, who is Ohio's Director for Homeland Security.

    DMAT OH-5 members honored were:  William L. Devir, EMT-P, Unit Commander, Washington Township Fire Department; Mark D. Johnson, EMT-P, Miami Township Fire Department; William E. White, Communications Officer, Kettering Memorial Hospital; Kenna J. Young, Medical Records Tech., retired from Greene Memorial Hospital; Patricia K. Bernitt, Administrative officer, GDAHA.  Also recognized, but unable to attend:  Gary Cunagin, FF/EMT-P, Bethel Township Fire Department and Daniel L. Schoun, FF/EMT-B, Professor, Kettering College of Medical Arts.
